How The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Adapter Counts Users

Most TIBCO Scribe® Insight adapters count the number of users configured in your application as a way of licensing the adapter. The adapters are set to allow the maximum number of users permitted by your license. If more users need to use the adapter than are allowed by your current license, contact your TIBCO Scribe® Insight Reseller or a TIBCO Sales Representative.

The adapter uses the Microsoft Dynamics 365 API to count users. The API differentiates the following types of users:

The adapter counts only the Full and Support users, who have read/write access. Essential users have only limited access and are not counted. For example, if you are licensed for 10 users and you have 5 essential users, you can have up to a total of 15 users logged on: 10 users with read/write access and 5 essential users.

In addition, Dynamics 365 offers licensing options that include device licenses and external connector licenses. These licenses are not included in the TIBCO Scribe® Insight user count.
