Testing The Workflow Publisher

Dynamics CRM 4.x only This topic only applies to the publisher for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.x.

Before continuing, test the workflow publisher to verify that a message can get from the Dynamics CRM 4.x server into the ScribeIn message queue on the TIBCO Scribe® Insight server.

To Test The Workflow Publisher

  1. If you have not already done so, add a Dynamics CRM 4.x publisher and select the workflow method.
  2. Set up a publisher entry for the Account object and check the Insert event.
  3. Type a message label.
  4. Save the publisher entry and then save the publisher.
  5. Verify that the status of the publisher process for the Dynamics CRM 4.x publisher is active.
  6. In Dynamics CRM 4.x:
    • Add and publish a workflow for the account entity.
    • Add and save a test account.
  7. From the Console, use the queue browser to verify that you can see the test message in the ScribeIn message queue:

Note: Because of Microsoft's five-minute minimum polling time, the test message may not show up in your queue for as long as five minutes.

    • If you have no active queue integration processes, the message goes to the ScribeIn queue.
    • If you have at least one active queue integration process, and none that have a matching message label for your test message, the message goes to the ScribeDeadMessage queue.

Note: If you have problems getting the test message to the ScribeIn message queue, use the Windows Event Viewer application log for error messages.
