Importing And Exporting The Metadata

This feature only applies to the Adapter for Dynamics CRM 4.x.

A metadata file is imported as part of the installation process. In general, additional metadata importing and exporting should not be necessary. However, TIBCO Support may ask you to import or export metadata while troubleshooting an issue. 

Dynamics CRM 4.x only The adapter metadata configurator is a tool that can import and export XML files to and from the TIBCO Scribe® Insight internal database. This tool allows you to retrieve adapter metadata, customize it, and put it back into the TIBCO Scribe® Insight internal database.

To Import Metadata

  1. Run the adapter metadata configurator by double-clicking MetadataConfig.exe, which is typically installed in C: \Program Files\Scribe\MetadataConfig.exe.
  2. In the Adapter field, select DynamicsCRMAdapter.
  3. Click Import Metadata. The Import Metadata dialog box appears.
  4. Browse to the Insight folder and select the appropriate XML file:
    • DynamicsCRMAdapterMetadata.xml — For Dynamics 365 (pre-2011) — English language users
    • DynamicsCRMEnglishAdapterMetadata.xml — For Dynamics 365 (pre-2011) non-English users
  5. Click Open to import the XML metadata into the TIBCO Scribe® Insight internal database.

To Export Metadata

  1. Run the adapter metadata configurator by double-clicking MetadataConfig.exe, which is typically installed in C: \Program Files\Scribe\MetadataConfig.exe.
  2. In the Adapter field, select Adapter for Dynamics 365 and CRM.
  3. Click Export Metadata. The Export Metadata dialog box appears.
  4. Browse to or create the file where you want to save the XML metadata.
  5. Click Save to export the XML metadata from the TIBCO Scribe® Insight internal database to the file you chose. Edit this file with a text editor.
