Using Tracing
Tracing is a valuable troubleshooting tool that you can use when developing data translation specifications. You can:
TIBCO recommends that you stop tracing before moving into a production environment.
- In the Workbench, click View > Options. The Application Options dialog box appears.
- Click the Tracing tab.
- Check the Tracing Enabled check box.
- Browse
to an existing file (.txt), or browse to a folder and enter a name to
create a new file.
Click Clear Trace File Contents to clear the contents of an existing trace file.
Note: If you do not clear the file, the new trace information is appended to the existing trace file.
- Click
OK to close the Application
Options dialog box and start tracing.
The tracing icon (
) is added in the lower right corner of the status bar of the main window to show that tracing is enabled.
- In the Workbench, click View > Options. The Application Options dialog box appears.
- Click the Tracing tab.
- Click Open Trace File with Notepad.
- In the Workbench, click View > Options. The Application Options dialog box appears.
- Click the Tracing tab.
- Clear the Tracing Enabled check box.
- Click OK to close the Application Options dialog box and stop tracing.
