Requirements

The ideal configuration has two or more servers, with at least one server running Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and one server hosting your TIBCO Scribe® Insight application.

TheAdapter for Dynamics NAV requires:

Scribe Insight Version 7.9.4 or later.
One of the following Microsoft Dynamics NAV versions:
- 2009 R2
- 2013
- 2013 R2
- 2015
- 2016
- 2017
- 2018
Microsoft .NET version 4.5.
This version is required for all Dynamics NAV NAS installers.
Note: If the system you are connecting to requires a TLS 1.2 connection, you must install .NET 4.5.2 or later. Some Windows Operating Systems do not support TLS 1.1 or 1.2. See this Microsoft Blog post for more information: Support For SSL/TLS Protocols On Windows.

Note: Refer to the Delegate Not Set For 'Command' Operation. Connecting to Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 Knowledge Base article in the TIBCO Community for instructions on where to locate or install this DLL if you do not already have it installed. The title references Dynamics NAV 2016, but the article applies to Dynamics NAV 2013 and higher.
One Dynamics NAV Application Server (NAS) instance for each company being integrated.
Scribe NAV Granule
To use the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Adapter Version 3.1.1 or higher, you must update your Microsoft Dynamics NAV client license with the Scribe NAV Granule ID 14094210 titled “Scribe NAV Adapter.”
If you are a TIBCO Scribe Customer, contact your regional Microsoft AOC and request the change to your Microsoft Dynamics NAV client license.
If you are a TIBCO Scribe partner, contact scribeproductmanagement@tibco.com for authorization to access the NAV Granule. In the email, include your Microsoft Partner ID number and country of registration. Product Management will respond within two business days.

Before proceeding with the adapter installation, be sure all the required components are installed and working correctly.

Note: Custom Dynamics NAV code for this Adapter is developed and tested on W1 region installations. Use with other regions will require modifications.

Note: Before installing any TIBCO Scribe® Insight software, always check the TIBCO™ eDelivery site for any new information about versions and compatibility.

Limitations

The TIBCO Scribe® Insight Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV has the following known limitations:

Virtual fields are not supported.
Binary large objects (BLOBs) such as Word documents or graphics files are not supported.
Unicode data is supported with the Adapter for Dynamics NAV 2013 and greater.

Note:

While TIBCO Scribe® Insight 7.5 and later supports Unicode data, Dynamics NAV 2009 R2 does not. Therefore, the Adapter for Microsoft Dynamics NAV cannot provide support for Unicode data with Dynamics NAV 2009 R2.
