Importing and exporting adapter metadata

The Adapter Metadata Configurator lets you import a previous default configuration, or export the current default configuration to a file. You are not required to edit the adapter's metadata. Edit it only if you need to make a change to it.

The import process loads an XML metadata data file into the Scribe internal database.

The export process copies the XML metadata from the Scribe internal database and exports it to a file that is suitable for editing with a text editor.

To import configuration metadata

1. Click Import Metadata. The Import Metadata dialog box appears.
2. Select an XML metadata file.
3. Click Open to import the XML metadata into the Scribe internal database.

To export configuration metadata

1. Click Export Metadata. The Export Metadata dialog box appears.
2. Enter the name of a new file or select the name of an existing file where you want to save the XML metadata.
3. Click Save to export the metadata to the file you created or chose.
