Queue Browser Overview

The Queue Browser enables you to view the messages currently in a Scribe System queue, a user-defined queue, and any other shared queue. To display the Queue Browser, in the Console, expand the site node, expand the Integration Server node, and select Queue Browser

The Queue Browser displays the system and other queues that have been shared, and the messages on a selected queue.

To share a message queue, expand Administration, select the Security node, and click the Message Queues tab.

The upper pane displays the shared message queues:
- System Queues
  - INPUT — Messages that have been generated by a publisher or bridge but have not yet been processed by an Integration Process (IP). Because queue IPs immediately begin processing new messages, if a message lingers on this queue, the IP is either paused or not properly configured to process the message.
  - RETRY — Messages that the IP attempted to process but failed to do so. Insight retries processing a message after a period of time. The Execution Log contains error details.
  - DEAD MESSAGE — Messages that have been retried the maximum number of times and were not successfully processed. To force Insight to process a message in this queue, move or copy the message back to the INPUT queue.
- Other Available Queues — Groups of queues that have been defined on this system and shared.
  - To define new queues, right-click Integration Server, click Properties, the click Add.
  - For each new queue group, an Input, Retry, and Dead Message queue are defined.
- Right-clicking a queue in the upper pane displays the following commands:
  - Paste — Adds to the selected queue the messages you copy from the lower pane. You are prompted to confirm that you want to copy the message and can either keep the original message priority or change the message priority.
  - Refresh — Update information about the selected queue. If any messages are being processed on that queue, they appears in the lower pane.
  - Delete — Removes the selected queue from your configuration. To delete a queue, you must be a member of the TIBCO Scribe® Console Administrators group and the queue cannot be assigned to a group.
    Note: Before deleting a queue, verify that all the messages on that queue have been processed. Any unprocessed messages in a queue that you delete are lost.
  - Purge — Clear all pending messages from the queue.
  - Properties — Displays the Queue Properties screen, which shows the name and label of the queue, as well as the status and authentication, transaction, and privacy settings for the queue.

The lower pane displays the messages on the selected queue.
- Right-clicking a message in the lower pane displays the following commands:
  - Cut — Remove the selected message from the selected queue. You can paste the cut message to another queue.
  - Copy — Writes a copy of the selected message to the clipboard. You can paste the copied message to another queue.
  - Delete — Removes the selected message from the selected queue.
  - View Body — Opens the XML message in a View Message window, where you can view and copy the message content.
  - Save Body — Opens the Save As dialog box, where you can specify where you want to save the selected XML message file.
  - Properties — Opens the Message Properties screen, which shows the Message ID, label, priority, class, and message extension information. From this screen, you can also display and save the XML message body.
- Click Refresh to update the messages displayed in the lower pane.
