Filtering Target Steps

A DTS file may contain multiple target connections and usually contains multiple steps. When a DTS file contains multiple connections and/or multiple target steps that use different data objects, you can filter the target pane view to show only the information that you need.

You can view all connections or steps, or you can filter on a single connection or step.

To view a single connection

  1. In the Workbench, click <View All Connections> and select the connection you want to view from the drop-down list. All of the steps in the selected connection display in the Target pane and Links pane tabs.
  2. To view all of the connections, select <View All Connections> from the Connections drop-down list.

Note: When you view a single connection, only the steps for that connection are displayed in the Steps drop-down list.

To view a single step:

  1. In the Workbench, click <View All Steps> and select the step you want to view. The selected step displays in the Target pane as well as in the Links pane tabs.
  2. To view all of the steps in the DTS (or in the selected connection), select <View All Steps> from the Steps drop-down list.

Note: If you copy a step in the Target pane, the lookup criteria, data formulas, and data links mappings associated with the step are also copied.
