Renaming Connections

A connection name is saved in the Scribe Internal Database and displayed in each DTS, even if the connection is not assigned a role in that DTS. If the name of an existing connection is changed in a DTS, the updated name is only written to the database when that DTS is saved. Other DTS files that use that connection only display the updated connection name after the DTS is saved.

If you move a DTS to another Insight installation, the updated connection name is only moved if the DTS was saved after the name was saved to the database. Otherwise, the updated connection name that appears in the DTS is moved with the DTS.

Note:

When you modify connection parameters in a DTS, those parameters are saved in the Scribe Internal Database when you save that DTS. When you open any other DTS, those parameters are read from the database and available to that DTS.
