Logging Tab

Insight always logs transactions that fail. The Logging tab of the DTS Settings dialog allows you to specify when to log successful transactions.

You may wish to log successful transactions temporarily, as a means of troubleshooting, or permanently, to provide an audit trail of actions done by Insight.

A Transaction can be defined as the execution of one step for one row. For example, consider a source of leads consisting of 5 rows, and 2 target steps, one which inserts an account, and one which inserts a contact. When the job runs, Scribe will attempt to execute 10 transactions altogether — the 2 steps for each of 5 rows.

You can control logging of success by operation type. Check the box for each operation type that you want to log: Inserts, Updates, Deletes, Executes, Seeks.

Transactions can be viewed in the Console Execution Log.
