The Console is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC)-based application. It provides a user interface to an array of options that you can use to automate Data Translation Specification ( DTS) files and manage Integration Processes (IP). DTS files (*.dts) load data from a source database to a target database.
The Console provides a framework on which you can develop complex integrations based on the automatic execution of any number of interrelated DTS files. You can also use the Console to manage the TIBCO Scribe® Insight server.
If desired, you can install the Console independently from the TIBCO Scribe® Insight Server. You can configure it to connect to the server using either COM/DCOM technology over a LAN or a Web Service connection hosted by Microsoft IIS.
The Console provides a single point of management for the entire integration. It enforces a view of the entire integration project as a group of Collaborations, where each Collaboration is a collection of related IPs, DTS files, and instructions for how and when they should automatically execute. You can manage each Collaboration as an independent object with its own reporting, monitoring, and other functions.
To make the organization easy to work with, the Console presents it as a graphical, user-defined tree. Through controls implemented at the Integration Server level, the Console provides easy access and control of all IPs running on the system.
The Console provides access to several system resources that are involved in an integration:
