The Data Objects Explorer displays available data objects, grouped either
alphabetically, by type, or by category. Expand these top level group
layers to view nested layers within each group.
The alphabetical grouping shows
all available data objects, in order. Individual data object types are
identified by their icons.
Beneath each icon (type) are other nested layers. See Data Objects.
The type and category
groupings’ individual data objects are nested below the corresponding
icons (types). Categories show data objects grouped according
to the specific database configurations in your system. Other layers are nested beneath each individual data object
as described below.
Data Object Details
Expand the Fields layer to display
field names.
Expand the Parent and Child layers
to show the relationship(s) between the selected object
and other objects.
For Views, expand the Base Tables
icon to display the base tables contained in the view.
Note: If a connection
is used as both a source and a target, the source connection appears
in the Data Objects explorer
as MyConnection:SOURCE, and Insight creates separate connections for the source and target, and acts on the target connection by default. Labeling the source
enables you to be sure that your function is acting against the expected
data. To have a function act on a source field, select it from the Data
Objects explorer.
