Skip if Repeated Tab

Use this tab when header/detail (or master/item) data is contained in the same source row.

Select a Source field(s) to watch for repeating data. This step is skipped for succeeding rows when the designated Source field values do not differ. However, if there are changes to the designated field(s), normal step processing resumes.

To define a Skip field

Click in the Skip column of the fields you want to designate as Skip fields. A check mark appears in the column.
Make sure that your source data is sorted by the field(s) that will be selected as Skip fields, otherwise you will not get the desired results. Source data can be sorted by defining the source using a SQL Query in the Configure Source window.

Skip if Repeated processing

The outcome for steps that skip because of repeating source values is the same as the outcome of the previous row for that step. For example, if the first row in a repeating group results in Success(0), then all subsequent rows in that group result in Success(0) for that step (where Skip if Repeated is enabled).

Using Skip if Repeated

When adding Skip if Repeated steps, the following rules apply:

Any Skip if Repeated steps must be the first steps in a DTS file.
A Skip if Repeated step cannot follow a non-Skip if Repeated step.
You can specify up to 32 Skip if Repeated steps in a single DTS file. Any additional Skip if Repeated requests are ignored and the DTS file processes all data.
The last step in a DTS file:
- Cannot be a Skip if Repeated step.
- Cannot contain GOTOSTEP or SKIPSTEP formulas.
