After you have added your connections for this DTS and configured the source connection, you can begin to configure the target steps.
To Configure Target Steps
Note: Not all connections are valid for source and target connections. For example, the same text connection cannot be both a source and a target. Only valid connections display in the Connections drop-down list.
The Step Order pane always displays a flowchart of the steps in this DTS. From the Step Order pane, you can make changes to the steps and step order using the following buttons:
Move the step up.
Move the step down.
Copy the step. When you copy a step in the Target pane, the lookup criteria, data formulas, and data links mappings associated with step are also copied.
Delete the step.
Rename, modify the default step name, or add a comment to the step.
|Print Step Order||Print the Step Order pane. Select a printer or the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, which allows you to save the image of the Step Order pane as an XPS file.|
Add or change a description for all the steps in this DTS. The comment appears in the DTS Report.
See the Step processing example for more information about configuring target steps.
