Configuring Target Steps

After you have added your connections for this DTS and configured the source connection, you can begin to configure the target steps.

To Configure Target Steps

  1. From the Workbench main window, click Configure Steps.
  2. Select a connection from the Connections drop-down list or click Connections to add a new connection with the Connection Manager (and then select the connection) you want.

Note: Not all connections are valid for source and target connections. For example, the same text connection cannot be both a source and a target. Only valid connections display in the Connections drop-down list.

  3. After you select the target connection, use the Data Objects tab to select a data object for this step and the operation you want to perform on it. Select additional data objects as needed.
  4. If required, select another connection from the Connections drop-down list and select the data object for that connection.
  5. After you have selected the data objects and step operations, configure the steps using the remaining tabs in the Configure Steps dialog box.
