Exporting a Package Overview

Use the Export feature to create an Insight package. An Insight package contains the connection information, collaborations, Integration Processes (IP), monitors, data views, bridges, publishers, and supporting files you want to transfer or back up to another server.

When exporting a package, you can:

• Select the files and components you want to include in the package
• Export the package in compressed (.spkz) or uncompressed (.spkg) format

In Insight version 7.9.0 and later, the Import/Export wizard includes the connection information in the export package.

The export process includes the following steps:

1. Exporting components
2. Exporting prerequisites
3. Exporting connections
4. Naming the package
