Open an existing DTS file.
Use the DTS Preview section at the bottom of the Select DTS dialog box to view Preview (summary) information about DTS files. Highlight a DTS file in the file browser pane, then select the Preview checkbox to display Preview information about the spec.
A list of recently opened DTS files appears at the bottom of the File menu.
Open an existing DTS file in offline, read-only mode. Opening a DTS in offline mode may be useful when, for example, you want to view or copy a formula from an existing DTS where the source and/or target connections used in the DTS are unavailable.
When opening the DTS in offline mode:
- Display all schema information on the source.
- View schema information on the target only for those objects for which a step already exists and those fields which are already linked via either a data link or lookup link. View full details of the data links and lookup links, including formulas.
- Source Connect and Target Connect functions are unavailable.
- Test, Run, Save, Save As, and DTS Settings functions are disabled.
- "Offline" appears in the title bar along with the name of the DTS.
Save the current DTS file with a different file name.
After creating multiple copies of a DTS with the Save As command, verify that the source and target settings in the original DTS are correct.
