Use the Performance tab in the DTS Settings dialog to set options that can affect the performance of a DTS job.

Update Statistics options

The update statistics command can be automatically executed for database engines that support it. This enables peak performance of the database engine when running jobs with large numbers of rows.

You can select various options for updating statistics. The effectiveness of your selections varies according to the database engine; refer to your database's documentation to determine optimum settings for each situation.

Miscellaneous options

Turn on % complete — Select to turn the progress display bar on or off (the default).
Selecting this option may slow the startup of the update process, depending on your source database.
Note:
If your database has over 1 million source rows, selecting this option may cause:
Excessive copyCurrentDBValueToCache errors to appear in your trace logs
Your integration process to hang
Use "Turbo Text" mode — Significantly increases the performance of text record insertion when using the Scribe/DataDirect text driver with non-Unicode data. Turbo Text mode appends records to the text file without going through the ODBC layers. However, the text file record remains formatted as defined in the ODBC driver setup dialogs.
If the target is not a Scribe/DataDirect text file, or if other incompatible options are selected (such as update or delete), this option is unavailable.
To use Turbo Text mode with non-Unicode data
1. Select the Use "Turbo Text" mode option.
2. Click OK to save and close the DTS Settings window.
3. Open the Connection Manager and select Edit. The Connection Settings window appears.
4. On the Global Connection Settings tab, verify that the Support Unicode data option is not selected.
5. Click OK to save your changes.

Note: Clear the checkbox if an incompatibility or other unexpected problem occurs.
