Locking And Unlocking Maps

Locked Maps are Maps that are open on another user's computer or in another browser, or they have been specifically locked by an Administrator. They are marked by a Lock icon () in the Status column on the Solution's Maps list. Select the Lock icon () for the locked Map to display the Locked By information in a pop-up dialog. This information includes the user name of the user locking the Map, and the date and time when it was locked.

Locking A Map

When a TIBCO Scribe® Online user opens a Map, the Map is immediately locked, preventing other TIBCO Scribe® Online users from Editing and saving the modified Map. The Map remains locked until the user closes the Map or an Administrator forces the Map to unlock by selecting Unlock from the Gear menu . A Map can also be locked deliberately by an Administrator. To lock a Map manually, select it from the Maps list on the Solution Edit page, and select Lock from the Gear menu .

When a Map is locked:

Unlocking A Map

If you only need to view a Map, consider duplicating the locked Map instead of unlocking it. Make sure that the duplicate Map is disabled to prevent it from being processed when the Solution runs. View the copy of the Map and then delete it when you are finished.

Note: Only Administrator Users can unlock any locked Map. All other users can only unlock Maps they have locked.

  1. In TIBCO Scribe® Online select Solutions from the menu.
  2. On the Solutions page, select the Solution name to open it.
  3. Scroll down to the Maps list and locate the locked Map.
  4. Select the Map and then select Unlock from the Gear menu .
