Execution Log Viewer

The Execution Log Viewer displays the Integration Process (IP) and Workbench executions and individual transactions associated with an execution, and enables you to filter the results displayed.

The viewer includes the following grids:

Execution (upper) — Displays IP, DTS, run time, and failed operations information on the execution.
Transaction (lower) — Displays source and target row numbers, operation, error, SQL command, and rejected row information. This information is available in the Transaction Error Report in Workbench.
Note: To search within a grid, right-click in the grid and click Find.

Report Options — Displays the Report Options dialog box, where you can specify how rows are displayed in the Execution and Transaction grids.
Clear Site Cache — Clears any adapter information saved in the registry cache.
Export Execution Grid — Enables you to save the contents of the Execution grid in a CSV file. If the Execution grid is empty, this command produces no results.
Export Transaction Grid — Enables you to save the contents of the Transaction grid in a CSV file. If the Transaction grid is empty, this command produces no results.
Options — Displays the Execution Log Viewer Options dialog box, where you can specify a SQL database query timeout value. This value can be modified. The default setting is 180 seconds, and can be set from 0 to 2147483646. Clicking the Default button returns the timeout to the default value.

The View menu on the Execution Log Viewer provides the following commands:

Collapse/Expand Execution — Collapses or expands the Execution grid. When collapsed, the Execution grid displays the selected row, to provide a context for the rows displayed in the Transaction grid.
Collapse/Expand Transaction — Collapses or expands the Transaction grid. When collapsed, the Transaction grid does not display any rows.
Note: You can also click the arrow in the first column of either grid to collapse that grid.
Add/Remove Columns — Opens the Column Chooser dialog box, where you can select the Execution, Execution Grouping, and Transaction tab to specify the columns that appear in each grid and what types of columns are grouped. A Restore Defaults button on each tab enables you to revert to the default settings. After you change the columns to display, click Refresh to update the grids.

The Execution Log Viewer includes the following functions:

Refresh — Update display based on current options.
Note: If the Execution Log Viewer is open and you run a different IP, click the Refresh button in the viewer to update the display for the current IP.
Execution Report — Opens the Execution Report.
Transaction Errors — Displays Transaction Error Report, which contains errors that occurred while running a job.
Job Summary — Displays the Job Summary Report, which contains the job run statistics.
Close — Closes the Execution Log.
Show Hidden Entries — Displays execution entries that were hidden by clearing the Show in Execution Log check box during the Activation step in Integration Process Properties.

Note: If you change the grouping options in the Execution Log Viewer, you must refresh the contents of the Execution Log Viewer before you can sort on a column.

Only executions that satisfy all the filtering options are included in the log viewer. To sort the executions on the contents of a column, click that column header.

Below the grids, a summary of the Execution and Transaction grids provides a total number of rows in each grid.

Note: If you open the Execution Log Viewer from the Run Complete dialog box in Workbench, only the transaction filters are available.

To use the execution filters in Workbench, from the Reports menu, select Reports.
