Overview of the Alert Log

When each Alert is raised it is written to the Alert Log. The Alert Log is used to both view information about what Alerts have been raised and also to track and manage any work that needs to be done in response to the Alert.

When an Alert is first written to the Alert Log, it has a status of "Alerted". If you are using notification, the Recipients or Recipient Group associated with the Alert is then automatically notified and the Alerts status is changed to "Notified".

Optionally, you may continue to track the resolution of the Alert by first changing its status to "Acknowledged" once the alert has been reviewed, and then finally to "Resolved" once a resolution has been made. Once notified, the alert’s status has no effect on the operation of the system and exists for management purposes only.
