When you convert a connection in the current DTS by either creating a new connection or using an existing connection, Insight establishes a connection to the data source. If Insight cannot identify the type of data source or establish a connection, after all the connections in the current DTS have been upgraded, the Connection Manager displays the problem connection in red. You must reconfigure any connection displayed in red before you can use the upgraded DTS.
To reconfigure a converted connection:
Any connection that must be redefined appears in red text.
The Global Connection Settings tab enables you to define the connection and modify connection parameters that are written to the Scribe Internal Database.
After the connection types in the local DTS are defined, Insight prompts you to convert any matching connections found in other DTS files in the current folder and subfolders. Insight converts individual connections matching the connections converted in the current DTS, based on your response to each prompt. For more information, see Converting Similar Connections In Other DTS Files.
