Step 2 — Specify the Source Connection

After you specify the type and name for the new Monitor, you identify the source connection:

1. Click Step 2 — Source Connection. The options available on the Source Connection page vary depending on whether you are monitoring a query or a queue.
2. Specify the options for the type of monitor you are defining:
   • Query Monitor
     1. Click Source Connect. The Connect dialog box appears, where you can specify available data sources.
     2. Expand the category node for the source connection and select the connection type. Only Adapters that support connections through Console are listed.

        The Connection Properties box shows details of the source connection.

     3. Click OK. The login window for the selected source connection appears.
     4. Enter the required information and click OK.
   • Queue Monitor
     1. Specify the queue to monitor:
        • Scribe Input Queue
        • Scribe Retry Queue
        • Scribe Dead Message Queue
        • Other Queue

        If you specify Other Queue, select a queue from the drop-down list.

3. Proceed to Step 3, Alert Criteria.
