The Import/Export Wizard provides a simple way to package and redeploy
your Insight collaboration. Use the wizard to create packages that include
your choice of any or all of the project’s connection information, integration processes, DTS
files, data views, bridges, monitors, and publishers.
The wizard walks you through choosing the collaboration elements you
want to package and export. After exporting, run the wizard again to import
and implement the collaboration on another Insight server.
After running the wizard, the collaboration is ready to use. There is
no need to restart the computer or any services.
Note: To import a package created in 7.9 with the Integration Process assigned to different Processor Groups, the target system must have the same Processor Groups defined.
Access the Wizard
To open the Import/Export Wizard, in the Console, click Console >
Import/Export. Simple instructions
on each page of the Wizard guide you through importing and exporting.
Note:
To run the Import-Export utility, you must have SQL access to the SCRIBEINTERNAL database.
When you export, as part of a package, a DTS file whose connection is
aliased, the Wizard sets the Prompt for reconnect option.
Use the wizard to:
Move from Test to Production — There
is no need for rebuilding collaboration components in the Console.
Perform Backup/Recovery — Easily
back up collaboration components and redeploy when necessary.
Create custom Insight templates —
Build a distributable, pre-configured solution that can save time and
effort and ensure consistent results.
The wizard:
Installs integration processes, monitors,
data views, publishers, bridges, and supporting files, such as DTS files,
scripts, and XML schema files
Enables you to modify on one screen the
connection information for all items to be imported
Sets the Prompt for reconnect option when you export, as part of a package, a DTS file whose connection is
aliased.
