Target Step Results Tab

In the Test window, the Target Step Results tab enables you to preview the results of your Step Control configuration without actually running the job. This tab is particularly useful in determining whether lookup links will be successful when the job is run.

A flowchart provides a graphical preview of how your step configuration will work when the job is run. This flowchart is similar to the one used while configuring step control options, however it is customized for the Test window:

The arc of the arrow is wider when the skip is the result of a formula.

Note: Seek, update, and delete perform a lookup against the target to determine 0, 1, or >1 rows found, based on the lookup links, and then display the step flow accordingly.

Insert does not modify the target in Test mode, and defaults to Success(1) in the step flow.
