Test Window

The Test window gives you a quick view of the records retrieved from your source data when your job runs. You can step through the records.

By default, the data in the view is sorted by source reference number. This number always starts with an "S," defines the default sort or order, and is used in formulas in place of the field name. Sorting field values helps considerably when there are many source data/user variables.

To sort a column in the source or target view, double-click the column header.

If your source data changes while using the running a test, you can refresh the view by clicking the Refresh button.

To Display the Test window

  1. Click the Test Job icon (), or select Test Job on the Run menu.

The Test Window displays a preview of the results of your job, row by row, without actually committing any rows to the target database.

  2. Use the buttons at the bottom of the window to navigate through the rows in the source or jump to a specific row.

To copy data from the Test window to the clipboard

  1. Highlight the rows you want to copy.
  2. Press CTRL+C to copy the rows to the clipboard. The data in the "Value" column for the selected rows is copied

Note: To copy data from another column, click the column header to highlight the entire column and press CTRL+C.
