Adding Or Editing A Replication Solution

Use a Replication Solution to copy the contents of your CRM or marketing system to a local database for reporting or business intelligence. Each Replication Solution performs a specific replication task. The processes for configuring and editing a Solution are the same.

Before you configure your first Solution, TIBCO suggests that you view the following video:

Prerequisites

  1. Make sure an Agent is available. Select Dashboard on the menu bar.
  2. The Agents widget displays your available Agents.
  3. If there are no Agents available, determine whether you want to:
  4. Create your Connections. Configuring Connections to one or more datastores can be done as you add or edit a Solution, but it may be easier to create them first. If you were invited into this Organization, the Connections may already exist. For information about creating Connections, see Adding A Connection.

Configure The Solution

Accessing The Solution Edit Page

  1. Select Solutions on the Menu bar to open the Solutions page.
  2. Select an existing Replication Solution to edit it or select the Add button and then select Replication to start configuring a Solution.The Solution Edit page is displayed.

Adding/Editing A Solution

Note: Solutions are saved automatically when a change is made, unless metadata cannot be retrieved from a running Agent.

Metadata is requested from the selected Agent for the source Connection, when Recommended entities is selected, and the target Connection any time you create a new Replication Solution or edit a Replication Solution after metadata has been reset.

  1. At the top of the Solution, enter a name for this Solution.

    Note: The name of this Solution must be unique within this Organization.

  2. From the Agent drop-down, select an Agent from the list.
  3. If no Agent is available, select Add Agent to begin the process of installing or provisioning a new Agent. See Installing A TIBCO Scribe® Online On-Premise Agent or Provisioning A TIBCO Scribe® Online Cloud Agent for more information.

    Note: The Cloud Agent is disabled if the Solution contains Connections that do not support the Cloud Agent.

  4. The Solution is enabled by default. To disable the Solution, remove the checkmark from the Enabled option. See Disabled Solutions for additional information.
  5. In the Description section, add a brief description for this Solution. This field is optional and limited to 256 characters.
  6. In the Trigger section, select the method that triggers the Solution to run. Options include:
    • On-Demand — Solution is run manually.
    • Scheduled — Solution is run at a scheduled intervals. See Scheduling A Solution.
  7. In the Connections section, select the Add button for your Source Connection. On the Add Connection dialog, choose an existing Connection or select the Create a New Connection link to configure a new Connection.

    Note: If you create a new Connection from the Add Connection dialog, you are adding a new Connection to your Organization. That new Connection may not support Replication Solutions. Refer to the documentation for the associated Connector for information on support for Replication Solutions. See Connections.

  8. In the Connections section, select the Add button for your Target Connection. On the Add Connection dialog, choose an existing Connection or select the Create a New Connection link to configure a new Connection.

    Note: See Managing Connections for more information on configuring new Connections.

  9. In the Entities section, select one of the following:
    • Recommended entitiesTIBCO recommended entities.
    • All entities — All entities in the Source datastore.
    • Selected entities — User-specified entities.

  10. In the Execution History section, view the status of the last five executions of this Solution. See Solution Edit Execution History. Select the View All link at the bottom of the section to see up to 45 days of Execution History for this Solution.

Once you have added Connections to your Replication Solution, the Gear menu for each Connection provides the following options:
